Teaser/Trailer

An artist may even post 'teasers' of a music video; this involves a short snippet from the music video which is used as a marketing strategy to lure viewers in. This intelligent form of marketing is done in a particular way to really make sure that the video get the amount of views hoped for, otherwise the video could be argued as a waste of money.
Often, a music video teaser could be released even a month from the release of the actual video, and the artist will constantly post different snippets throughout the months/leading up to the official release date to build anticipation and remind their followers that the video is going to be released. Posts will become more saturated, meaning that the closer to the release date, the more the artist or record company will post about the music video so that followers will not miss it.
I have decided to make a 'teaser' for my own music video so that, as a production company, I would get more views and have more people interested. This was very enjoyable to create because I could use the best bits of footage that I had to make the video look good.

I like the trailer I have made for my music video because it is short and doesn't give away the whole story. I have only used a few clips to intrigue my target market and I think that it does this successfully as I have demonstrated techniques such as coloured lighting and the text on the screen makes it look professional. Many trailers are longer than 8 seconds, whereas I felt it was necessary for the video to be shorter so that it did not give too much away. I have also only used the introduction music of the song to also keep the actual video as a surprise.

If I were to improve my trailer, I would make sure that the end of the video fitted with the music more, as the title page at the end comes in too early, however this was not possible to correct due to the introduction of the music coming to an end and the lyrics coming in, which I did not want to include.
